Watchlist: Boxing Day

In a week the festive fun will all be winding down and so here’s a list of my top films that I like to cram in before the holiday spirit comes to an end… There’s something about watching so many action layered films on Boxing Day that just feels right.

The Lord of the Rings:  The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Almost in the same realm of Gone with the Wind… when else do you have three hours spare? One year we just watched the entire trilogy because why the hell not?

Die Hard (1988)
I know this is traditionally pegged as a Christmas Movie, but over the years we just never found the time for it and so it just became a Boxing Day thing.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Don’t roll your eyes, you were warned! We’ve already watched two so might as well make it a trifecta. My sisters favourite and arguable the most action packed of the series.

The Incredibles (2004)

Okay so this one isn’t exactly a staple and so our necessary daily dose of animation is normally put to a vote. However the animated action tends to be Disney or Pixar related.

I’m sure a number of my selections over the past three posts don’t even rank on the top 100 lists. But the holiday season is a time for family, festivities and favourites – so whatever floats your boat.

What are a few of your slightly less conventional holiday watches?

So I’m watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on ITV right now which I looooove, but yesterday we watched Don’t Be a Menance to the South Central which was funny but so not Christmas

    1. Never seen it but heard good things, I’m sure every family has that one film along the same lines lol. Love that ITV puts on Harry Potter every year.

It’s kind of uncomfortable in the current police brutality context but funny. Same! Real MVP
